Microsoft have shocked me and many others when they announced the release date and price for what they are calling “Project Natal”. For those of you who do not know what Project Natal is hear is a brief description and video to explain. It is basically a motion control system for the Xbox 360 that is still in development. It does not sound that ground breaking but this little device could change the ways we interact with consoles forever. That is a pretty big statement I know but with features like face recognition and full body motion control it really opens up the possibilities. Still don’t believe me? Watch the video:
The release date for Natal has been set for November 2010. A good distance away but not to far to stop me from getting a little excited and that’s certainly not the bit that “shocked me”. What shocked me was that Microsoft have said that this ground breaking piece of computer history will be launched at a price of around £50! That is only slightly more than a new high end game. If they actually come through and release at the price hinted I think this could really cement Microsoft as the lead in console gaming market. If they have over hyped the products uses and underestimated the cost and development time, I think this could have a very different effect. All i can really say with confidence is that I hope they spend a little more money on developing the look of the the little green eyed freak:

£50 is about right for natal as it is just an xbox 360 accesory. If microsoft goes and brings up the price i doubt many people will buy it
